Takesada Matsutani at the 57th Venice Biennale

In October 2009, I opened Galerie E.G.P with a solo exhibition by the Japanese Gutai artist Takesada Matsutani.

Since then the Gutai movement has had the international recognition we hoped for, in the form of the fantastic 2013 retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Gutai: Splendid Playground curated by Alexandra Munroe and Ming Tiampo.

It is therefore with immense joy that we saw Takesada Matsutani’s installation in the Arsenale at the 57th Venice Biennale’s exhibition VIVA ARTE VIVA curated by Christine Macel. Congratulations!
